Happy Monday! I decided to end my weekend by checking out the new yogurt frappuccino at Starbucks. I’ve been seeing tweets about it and have been curious about it. I convinced hubby to drive us to the nearest Starbucks and ordered way more than just a yogurt frappe.
Doesn’t it look so bright and refreshing? I’m normally a chocolate person and tend to avoid fruit flavored things, but this looked really good to me from the start. For some reason they only offered one size of this frappuccino, but that’s okay.
Let’s break this frappuccino down! Starting with whipped cream on top, the second layer is a jelly made of four fruits. Orange, strawberry, white peach, and yellow peaches. Next we have the yogurt frappe layer. The sign says it’s a very rich and refreshing. Finally we have the bottom layer that consists of crushed almonds. I was a little iffy about the nuts, but it ended up tasting really good and not overpowering at all.
They also brought back one of my favorites, the Chunky Cookie Frappuccino! This frappe is so good! Hubby doesn’t like it as well because he finds the cookie bits grainy and not a pleasant texture, but I love it! They only had one size for this frappuccino as well. Perhaps cause it’s only for a limited time only?
We hadn’t eaten yet so, of course, everything in the showcase looked delicious. Hubby is a fan of the sandwiches at Starbucks because he eats them at work quite often, but I’ve always been a fan of the wraps and quiche! There were a few new items out and I was very pleased to see that one of them was a yummy looking lasagna!
I’m more of a cookie or scone person when it comes to Starbucks, but these donuts looked really nice too! As a sweets deco crafter I’m always looking at desserts and imagining how they would look in miniature form.
Starbucks was all about the Fruits-on-Top Yogurt Frappuccino!
Even the staff were wearing themed t-shirts for the occasion.
Aaaand here it is! The beautiful Fruits-on-Top Yogurt Frappuccino! In the end hubby drank most of it, but I got to taste each layer and I must say it was very refreshing. After a few sips hubby mixed it all up and that was pretty good too. I was afraid the fruit jelly would be too sweet, but it wasn’t at all. It’s the perfect drink for the upcoming warm weather!
Hubby chose the spinach and bacon quiche. It’s definitely one of my favorites at Starbucks. Not very convenient to take to go, but if you have time to sit down and enjoy I would definitely give this a two thumbs up. They used to have a mushroom quiche and I really liked it a lot too.
My Chunky Cookie Frappuccino! It was just as delicious as I remembered! If you’re a chocolate lover like me I think you’ll like this one! I didn’t ask how long they’d be serving it, but the seasonal drinks seem to come and go pretty quickly so if you have the chance go, go, go!
Here we have the new lasagna! I am a huge lasagna lover, but unfortunately Japan doesn’t seem to have a huge demand for lasagna (or Mexican food) which is very disappointing to me. You can imagine how excited I was to see this at Starbucks!
As you can see it’s a healthy piece of lasagna! Lots of layers and meat sauce. I think only the top layer had cheese and white sauce, while the middle layers only had meat sauce, but it was still very delicious. It was perhaps a bit on the salty side and by the end of the piece I was needing some water. Maybe that’s Starbucks’ way of getting customers to buy more drinks! Hahaha.
I would say that this trip to Starbucks was the perfect ending to a nice weekend. I’ll definitely be going back for another yogurt frappuccino before they switch over to their next drink. It’ll be a hard decision between the yogurt frappe and cookie frappe though. Which one looked better to you? Also, what is your favorite Starbucks snack?
